So, I made a complete guide by comparing Dell and Asus laptops, ultimately helping you save money for the best specs possible.

There are a lot of factors that influence us when looking for a laptop. It can be the price, the look, the display, etc. But more often than not, the brand is the decisive factor that makes us buy the laptop.

For the performance, Asus always had the lead over Dell. It’s no surprise, since Asus are very present in the gaming niche, with their PC components and their gaming laptop lineup ROG. They are also a big name in the graphic cards department.

For the build quality, Dell has the advantage though. Their systems have always been tougher, even with finer and sleeker design.

From mouse support to internal components drivers, Dell’s driver support also has the edge over Asus’s. In addition, Dell laptops are slightly more easy to upgrade components. Don’t get me wrong, most laptops from any brand are upgradable, but Dell still have the edge on that anyway.

While it might be tempting to choose Dell over Asus, keep in mind that Asus laptops are often slightly cheaper. Still, aiming for a Dell laptop might be worth it, as they often last way longer than Asus laptops.

For the storage, they are pretty much the same. But I recommend choosing one with an SSD over a hard drive. That will make your laptop incredibly faster.

Both brands can come with a dedicated GPU (graphic card), but it’s up to you if you need it. Those can be quite expensive, but essential if you’re planning on playing games on it.

Whatever the brand, there’s always those laptops that include expensive features like 2k display and touchID fingerprint. I suggest you save your money and stay away from those gimmicks. You don’t need it.

Final verdict

Asus Laptops

Asus laptops are more on the affordable side, with their mostly plastic, but still premium build material. Most of their laptops have better performance than Dell, allowing for better gaming experiences. They’re also very specialized in the gaming niche, with they’re more advanced heat dissipation systems.

Though, their customer service is slightly worse than Dell. Their battery life is also often way worse, some lasting hours less than Dell laptops.

Go with Asus if you’re looking for very good performance at an affordable price, compromising build material quality and customer service.

Dell Laptops

Dell’s are a better choice if you’re into build quality, battery life and generally slimer designs. They also have way better customer service than Asus. If you have a defective part in your newly received laptop, just call them. They’ll come fix the laptop for you.

In terms of performance, they own the very successful gaming laptops series “Alienware”. They pretty much have the best specs for gaming, though they are very expensive. They’re very comparable to Asus’s top performance laptops.

Go with Dell for generally good performance, lighter and premium design, better battery life.
